What is Spring Training?

It is the kind of training that transpires way before the beginning of the regular season. It could be put in simpler words to be understood by all which means the sort of training that precedes the regular flow of games of the season. This term is basically pertaining to the Major League Baseball, which is played every season. Therefore there are many players who play the spring training games while the other start playing for the seasonal League by the end of the spring training affair. Teams often begin by wearing their battle practice uniform all through the spring training and wearing their normal jerseys on the first day of the final League. All these aspects play a vital role in their seasonal final League of Baseball for with the help and aid of the two months spring training, they generally do better in the finals.

Florida and Arizona

For instance, the New York Yankees trained in the Cuban city in the year 1950 while during the World War II many teams trained in the city they had easy access to, which is why the official host of the spring training generally kept changing every now and then depending upon the requirement. It is also a fact that statistics recorded for the spring training games are never listed with the games of the regular season games which is also because of the reason that they are both separate affairs of the same game. Or, putting it in other words, the two sides of a coin!

The ‘HOW-TO’ to Train a Dog Effectively to Behave

Dogs are adorable but an untamed dog could turn out to be a nightmare. Dogs are animals like any others and without proper instruction they are likely to behave like one as well. It is not uncommon to hear dog owners complaining that their dogs trash the house, dig holes in the lawn, growl at people or even bite them. This can be easily avoided by proper dog training. Below are the tips on how to train and raise a responsible canine citizen

Obedience training:

Dogs are pack animals and will tend to follow the leader of the pack to ensure successful training: there must be a chain of command. In obedience training it is important to ensure that your dog knows that you are the boss. This can be easily done by being the leader through instructing and praising the dog for good behavior, this will ensure the dog sees you as the Alpha dog and will adhere to any instructions you give it.

House training;

House training entails ensuring that your dog does certain activities in designated areas. For proper house training entails;

– Confining your puppy to a specific area in the house when unsupervised.

– Ensure your puppy has a nice comfortable bed in his/her area of choice and ensure they are comfortable by providing water and petting them in such areas gives a sense of security.

– Choose a specific toilet command and at times when your puppy is due to pee or poop you lead them to its toilet place and repeat the command to urge the desired result.

In house training patience and spending a lot of time with your puppy will help in speeding up the process by knowing its behavior when it wants to go to the toilet. Positive feedback when the pup does the correct thing enhances adherence to behavior.

The sit command

The sit command is a fundamental dog training technique as it helps you control your dog and is the first step toward successful future training. Should be done in a quiet place without distractions and to ensure you have your dog’s attention have treats. Make sure you make your commands in a calm and firm tone. Use the same command and same tone of voice and if the dog understand and obeys, offer it the treat.

The down command

Once you have successfully taught your dog to sit you proceed to the down command that is crucial in calming a frightened dog or soothe aggressive behavior. Tell your dog to sit then bring a treat to its nose and lower it to the ground and its head will follow once it is in position command “down” then give it a treat. Repeat the procedure till you achieve the desired goal.

The stay command

After your dog has mastered the sit and down command incorporate the stay command by instructing your dog to sit then raise your palm and command them to stay if they do give them a treat if not repeat again.

Leash training

Leash training can be one of the most frustrating dog training techniques. Many dog owners have tried leash training their dogs with minimal success. This may be because they are doing it all wrong. The first step in dog training is you ensure your dog is comfortable with the leash. Using barbaric collars won’t help in the long run as it may cause aggression. Initially train your dog in the house let it wear the leash for as long as it can to get familiarized. For every time the dog stays close to you during the training session give it a treat to enforce behavioral change. In the first stages of leash training avoid the outdoors as there are numerous distractions that will inhibit the learning process. For best results ensure that you make the training sessions short and scheduled: this makes learning easier and fun.

Grooming training: This dog training technique is ideal for pups as their behaviors can be easily altered, but it can also be done on older dogs. In dog grooming training it is important that once you bring your dog home you accustom it to constant touching and inspection. This can be easily done by ensuring you are constantly holding it and checking its paws, mouth ears. These simple gestures will prepare the dog for future grooming and clipping sessions.
